Kerry crews in action at Wexford Rally
There was plenty of Kerry interest in the Wexford Volkswagen Rally at the weekend, with several crews making the trip east.
Local driver Sean Cahill and Killarney and District Motor Club co-driver Ciara Griffin recorded the best Kerry-linked result, bringing their Honda Civic home second in Class 11F.
Brothers Chris and Michael Browne from Brosna ran strongly in their Ford Escort until alternator belt trouble on Sunday. They rejoined under Super Rally rules and were classified fourth in Class 12.
Young Donegal driver Oisín McShane, partnered by Ballyhar’s Niall Myers, impressed in their Peugeot 208. They led Class 2A for much of the event before going off the road on Sunday afternoon.

Fossa-based Wexford man Sam Leech’s rally ended early after clutch issues in his Honda Civic forced him out on Saturday.
In the Junior Rally, which ran on Sunday only, Louise Bourke and Edwin Walsh completed a solid run to finish fourth overall after nine stages in their Peugeot 208.
