Kerry Proves It’s the Car Capital of Ireland
If proof was ever needed that Kerry is Ireland’s car capital, the month of September says it all. Across four weekends, the Kingdom will host no fewer than seven major motoring events, covering everything from drifting and car shows to the biggest rally stars in the country.
The action begins on the weekend of September 5–7 when 360 Autosports bring their drifting show to the county. That same weekend, Tralee will showcase some of the finest machinery on display at Automobilii Tralee on Saturday, before Killarney Valley Classic & Vintage Club stage their car show at the racecourse on Sunday.

Just a week later, the high-profile Cannonball Run will stop off at the Brehon Hotel in Killarney on September 13–14. The nationwide supercar parade is always a crowd-puller and promises to bring colour and noise to the streets once again.
On Sunday, September 21, the focus shifts to Ballymacelligott where the local vintage club will run their annual car run. This event highlights the heritage side of motoring in Kerry, with rare and restored classics expected to take part.
Ahern’s Garage in Tralee will be the venue for the BMW Rally Forum on Friday, September 26, bringing together fans and competitors for a night of rally talk and machinery. That sets the scene for the following day’s Rally Masters Ireland event in Killarney, a headline-grabbing motorsport show that will feature some of the sport’s biggest names.

Seven events in just four weekends underline Kerry’s special place in Irish motoring culture. From grassroots vintage runs to the glamour of supercars, from drifting to rallying, the county will be the heartbeat of Irish car life all month long.
