John Rice marks 80th birthday with rally car spin
Beaufort man John Rice celebrated his 80th birthday in style last Saturday by fulfilling a lifelong dream of travelling in a rally car.
With the help of Killarney and District Motor Club’s Colin O’Donoghue, a former winner of the Modified category ofthe Rally of the Lakes, John was collected from his home and driven in style to his family meal at the Dunloe Hotel and Gardens.
“It was the spin of my life,” John said. “I enjoyed travelling in style to my 80th birthday dinner. I want a job as a co-driver now!”
