Kerry Juniors All Make the Finish in Cork Forestry Rally
All Kerry-based junior crews reached the finish of today’s Jim Walsh Cork Forest Rally, round four of the Sligo Pallets Forest Rally Championship and the Motorsport Ireland Junior Rally Series, based in Kanturk.
In the Junior 1000 section, James Spillane and Maurice McElligott finished sixth in class in a Seat Mii.
Sam Gorman and Niall Myers were seventh in a Nissan Micra.
Frank Wharton and Denny Greaney finished ninth in a Toyota Aygo.
David Slattery Jr and Ger Somers placed tenth in a Hyundai i10.
Aidan O’Leary and John Falvey were 11th in a Toyota Aygo.
In the senior classes, Ciara Griffin and her Laois driver Aaron Martley was the top Kerry co-driver, finishing 34th overall in their Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX.
In class 11F George Shinnors and his Healy Pass co-driver Sean Duggan won the class and placed 43rd overall in their Honda Civic.
Colin Neligan and Bernard McSweeney were sixth in class in a Ford Fiesta R2.

The rally featured over 70km of gravel stages with service at Kanturk Mart. Kerry crews now look ahead to the next rounds of the forest and junior championships.
