Anthony O’Carroll to return home Saturday

Ballyduff motorcycle racer Anthony O’Carroll is set to return home this Friday evening , just over a year after a serious crash at the Isle of Man left him with life-changing injuries.
The 28-year-old was one of Ireland’s top road racing talents when he suffered multiple injuries during a practice session in July 2024.
Since then, his recovery has been long and difficult, supported every step of the way by his parents, Mary and Nelius, and a huge circle of friends and supporters.
Anthony’s condition has improved significantly in recent weeks, and he is now well enough to spend time at home.
To help manage the number of people hoping to catch up with him, two informal meet-and-greet events are planned.
Locals and friends are invited to Ballyduff Community Centre on Saturday between 3:30pm and 4:30pm. A second opportunity to meet Anthony will take place at Walsh’s Bar on the same evening from 5pm to 6:30pm.
Supporters are kindly asked to respect Anthony’s space and understand that the last year has taken a lot out of him. While he’s looking forward to seeing everyone, large crowds may be overwhelming.
His return to Ballyduff marks a significant milestone in a long and ongoing recovery journey.
