Kerry interest in  Imokilly Rally

Kerry interest in  Imokilly Rally

There’s big Kerry interest in this weekend’s CDE Imokilly Mini Stages Rally 2025, which takes place on Sunday around Midleton in East Cork.

Several Kerry drivers and co-drivers will cross the county bounds for one of the highlights of the summer rally calendar.

Robert Duggan heads the entry as top seed. The Killarney driver won the last running of this event two years ago and comes into this one in flying form, having taken the modified win in the  Rally of the Lakes in May with John McCarthy on the notes.

Also making the trip are Denis Hickey and Ronald O’Riordan in their Ford Escort Mk2, along with Vincent O’Shea and Eoin O’Donoghue in a Darrian T90 GTR.

Peter Wilson, based in Cavan, teams up with Kerry’s John McCarthy in another Escort.

Tim Enright and Stephen Buckley return for their first outing since the Circuit of Kerry in March.

Tommy Mason and Paul McGlinchey, the defending Kingdom of Kerry Champions, will line up in their Escort, while Brian Hickey and Noel Murphy add more Kerry interest in  class 14.

Rally fans will be glad to see Willie Power back in action for the first time since the 2010 Fastnet Rally, this time with his son John making his co-driving debut in their Darrian.

Killarney’s John Falvey co-drives for Limerick’s Eamon Daly in a classic Toyota KP60, while Cyril Wharton and Donal Falvey represent an all-Kerry crew in their Escort.

David Randles and Aidan Kennedy will fly the flag too, bringing out their Peugeot 208 Rally 4 for a fourth time this year.

There’s a welcome return for John and Ruby O’Riordan from Listry, who are out in their Escort Mk2 for the first time since the 2023 Rally of the Lakes.

Tralee’s John Corrigan, well-known for his local tyre business, will compete in his Subaru Impreza with son-in-law  Niall Mulcahy alongside.

Peter Kelly is also back in an Escort for his first rally since the 2023 Rally of the Lakes.
