Kerry interest in Raven’s Rock Rally

Sunday’s Raven’s Rock Rally, the fourth round of the Triton Showers Motorsport Ireland National Rally Championship, has several based Kerry competitors on its bumper entry list.
Leading the charge for Kerry is London-based Rockfield co-driver Shane Buckley. Currently sitting second in the co-driver standings with 47 points, just three points shy of championship leader Tom Murphy, Buckley is firmly in contention for the overall title.
His consistent form alongside driver Sam Moffett in their Hyundai i20 Rally2 has seen them secure a second-place finish in Cavan and a third overall on the Circuit of Kerry.
Beyond the top-tier battle, a strong contingent of local talent from the Kingdom is set to tackle the rally
Vincent O’Shea and Eoin O’Donoghue of Kenmare will be strong contenders in the modified category, in their Darrian T90 GTR.
Diarmuid Falvey will be navigating for Dublin driver Tim McNulty in a VW Polo.
The Glenflesk duo of Denis Hickey and Eoin O’Leary will pilot their Ford Escort Mk2, while another Kenmare pairing, Brian Hickey and Noel Murphy, will also be competing in a Ford Escort Mk2.
Finally, John Corrigan of Tralee will team up with his Co. Limerick son-in-law Niall Mulcahy in their Subaru Impreza.
Based in Waterford City with stages through South County Kilkenny, the Raven’s Rock marks the halfway point of the championship season.
