Quiet hour Planned for Autism Friendly Rally Fans in Killarney

Killarney and District Motor Club will run a special “quiet” hour at the Lewis Road Car Park ahead of the Rally of the Lakes parade on Friday.
This hour is set aside for autistic people and their families. Rally cars and drivers will be available to meet, but there will be no revving engines during this time.
The quiet hour runs from 5:00pm to 6:20pm. Organisers are asking the general public to enjoy the parade around Killarney town instead, so that the car park can stay a calm environment.
It’s important to note that while the car park area will be quieter, some rally cars will still be arriving and passing by — and these cars may still make some noise.
The event is part of Killarney’s efforts as an Autism Friendly Town and is supported by Rally of the Lakes organisers.
Just as newspapers and magazines are paid for, digital editorial content will also have to be paid for.
