MTU-based entrepreneur launches innovative online motor club
A Clonakilty native based at the Munster Technological University (MTU) in Tralee is about to launch a new web-based motor club that promises to revolutionise how enthusiasts plan and enjoy their driving experiences.

Peter O’Regan, currently participating in Enterprise Ireland’s New Frontiers programme at the Tom Crean Centre in MTU, is the driving force behind Tigre Motor Club, an innovative online platform and AI Road Trip Planner set to launch in early March, coinciding with Local Enterprise Week (March 4-8).
O’Regan’s passion for motorsport ignited in his childhood when he watched the legendary West Cork Rally from the roadside in Ring Village.
“As a young child sitting on a wall in Ring Village watching the Subarus of Donie O’Sullivan and Denis Cronin drive past, I was instantly hooked,” he recalls.
This early fascination fuelled a decade of experience in the automotive and motorsport industry, including stints with the likes of Tuthill Porsche, M-Sport, and Cool Planet Electric Cars.
“This has given me a unique understanding of enthusiast-based experiences and the memories that they can create,” O’Regan explains.
Tigre Motor Club is designed to simplify the often complex process of planning and executing motoring adventures.
“Tigre Motor Club is a community for those who live and breathe motorsport. We understand the passion, the nuances, and the desire for personalisation that drives you,” says O’Regan.
The platform offers a range of features, from discovering breathtaking routes and iconic destinations to connecting with fellow enthusiasts.
“Our seamless online platform and innovative AI Road Trip Planner empower you to discover, plan, travel, and share your adventures all in one place,” he adds.
Members will also benefit from exclusive discounts through the Tigre Partnership Network and invitations to member-only events, including track days, car shows, and exclusive gatherings.
“We go beyond simply getting you from point A to point B; we’re here to help you savour every moment on the open road. We’re your ultimate driving companion, providing you with the tools, inspiration, and community to make every journey extraordinary,” he says.
Tigre Motor Club’s journey began in Clonakilty, but its base is now firmly established at MTU Tralee, thanks to O’Regan’s participation in the New Frontiers programme.
“In September 2024 Tigre was awarded a place on Enterprise Ireland’s New Frontiers Phase Two Programme, this signalled the move to MTU Tralee. New Frontiers is Enterprise Ireland’s flagship startup accelerator. Tigre is supported by Enterprise Ireland and the Local Enterprise Office, this support enables Tigre Motor Club to further its mission of creating a seamless online platform for motor enthusiasts,” says O’Regan.
O’Regan’s frustration with the challenges of organising enthusiast experiences was the catalyst for Tigre Motor Club.
“Tigre Motor Club was born from a passion for motorsport and a desire to make enthusiast-based experiences hassle-free. I grew increasingly frustrated with the time and effort required to organise these experiences, so I created Tigre Motor Club to simplify the process and let drivers focus on the joy of the journey.”

Following the launch, O’Regan plans to take his product on a roadshow, visiting local motor clubs and presenting the platform to members.

He is also inviting enthusiasts to become early-access app testers through the Pit Stop Membership.
“We’re excited to launch our Pit Stop Membership, allowing motor enthusiasts to become early access app testers and shape the future of our platform. Join us as we redefine the driving experience and make every road trip an unforgettable adventure.”
