Crean confirms 2025 racing schedule

Tralee-based motorcycle racer Darragh Crean has confirmed his 2025 racing schedule and will continue with DJ Racing for a second season.

The team has also announced Elcofire as its new title sponsor.

Following a 2024 season focused on the Sportbike class in the British Superbike Championship DJ Racing will shift its focus in 2025 to the North West 200 and a return to the Manx Grand Prix, along with select road races and support class rounds in BSB.

Crean recently completed a newcomers training course at the North West 200  track County Derry, paving the way for his debut at the event.

He will ride an ex-Michael Dunlop Triumph this season.

“We are delighted to be going racing again with Darragh,” said DJ Racing Team Principal Danny Breen.

“We had a very good learning season last year together, and we now have a clear focus on what we want to do this year. We are really looking forward to going back over to the Manx Grand Prix again, and hopefully the weather holds, so we can put into practice what we learned last year and also to help Darragh achieve another one of his dreams of doing the North West 200 for the first time in May.”

Crean added: “I’m very happy to be back again with DJ Racing for a second year, and it’s great to have Elcofire on board as the new team sponsor.

“They were a great help to me last year for my first time on the Isle of Man Mountain course and now another first is to get to do the famous North West 200, so I just can’t wait to get going now.

“I am excited to get the new Triumph that was built by MD Racing for the famous triangle course, as it will be a totally new experience for me and the team, and of course a return the Manx.”
