1984 Circuit of Munster Rally – need input from the history buffs

Killarney man Diarmuid O’Mahony gave us this fine selection of photos from the 1984 Circuit of Munster Rally
What we know it that the event took place on June 1 and 2, 1984, it was sponsored by Canada Dry and based in Newcastle West
The top seed was Joe MacHale, a brother of Austin’s from Rathcool driving a Vauxhall Chevette!
One crew was searched and found to have illegal pace notes, the crew had their competition licences suspended for 12 months at a later RIAC (now Motorsport Ireland) enquiry.
