Hope returns for Athea Road Races in 2025
Hope is emerging for the return of motorcycle road racing in Ireland in 2025, following a two-year absence due to significant insurance challenges.
The Athea-based South West Road Racing Club, a member of the Road Racing Alliance of Ireland (RRAI), has held two productive meetings since Christmas, and a crucial step forward has been achieved with the RRAI potentially securing insurance for events in 2025.
The club will announce an annual general meeting to be held within the next month and after that will concentrate on organising the Athea Road Races with an August Bank Holiday weekend date provisionally pencilled in.
Just as newspapers and magazines are paid for, digital editorial content will also have to be paid for.
