25 in 2025
Last week The Kerryman newspaper published a list of 25 Kerry-based sports people to watch in 2025.
They asked Kerry Motorsport News to select a motorsport competitor to be included in the list:
LOUISE BURKE
Killarney-based Louise Bourke will embark on her second season of rallying this year.
The 24-year-old is one of the first Kerry-based female drivers to commit to a full season.
Driving a Peugeot 206 the 24-year-old will contest the Junior element of next month’s Galway International Rally.
She is also committed to the West Cork Rally (March), the Rally of the Lakes (May) and the Cork ‘20’ International Rally (October).
In her debut season last year, she finished all three events she started (Rally of the Lakes, The Stonethrowers Rally and the Cork ‘20’) and with a full programme planned for 2025, it is certainly worth watching her progress.
