There’s always a Kerry connection, and this time it’s Drift World Champion Conor Shanahan bringing a global spotlight to the Killarney Historic Rally.
The Cork man, celebrated for his skill in the world of drifting, teamed up with Tralee-based Tillotson Racing for the event, driving a Scott Williams Motorsport-prepared Ford Escort Mk2 alongside co-driver Andy Hayes.
Tillotson Racing, a company with roots in Tralee where it operates a carburettor factory and.
The kart racing team is also run out of their Tralee premises.
g. Conor Shanahan is actively assisting Tillotson in developing a new (traditional) kart.
Plans are also in the works for a specialised kart aimed at training young drivers in the art of drifting.
