Walsh welcomes the return of the Tandragee 100

Ardfert-based road racer Stephen Walsh has welcomed the confirmation of the 2025 Northern Irish road racing calendar, particularly the return of the iconic Tandragee 100.

The Motor Cycle Union of Ireland (Ulster Centre) has finalised the schedule, which includes four road races.

The Tandragee 100 will ruin for the first time since 2022 after the organising club secured government funding to resurface some of the County Armagh track.

The 2025 season will kick off with the Cookstown 100 on April 25-26, followed by the legendary North West 200 from May 7-10.

The return of the Tandragee 100 is scheduled for June 27-28, after a one-year hiatus. The Armoy ‘Race of Legends’ will conclude the Irish road racing calendar on July 24-26.

While the news is positive for Northern Ireland road racing, there has been no official word yet from the MCUI Southern Centre regarding the return of closed road racing in the Republic of Ireland.

Walsh has been competing in the classic classes in Irish and Manx road racing events for several years.

“It’s fantastic news that the Tandragee 100 is back on the calendar,” he said. “It’s one of the most iconic races in the sport and I’m looking forward to competing there next year.”
