Motorsport history will unfold at the upcoming The Rose Hotel Kerry Winter Rally as three generations of the Costello family from Ballybunnion prepare to take on the event.
Joe Costello, the patriarch of the family, will make a return to rallying after a hiatus of nearly four decades.
He will pilot the same Ford Escort he drove in the 1985 Rally of the Lakes.
Joining him on the starting line will be his son, Jason, who is also entered in the rally and will also drive a Ford Escort Mk2.
Adding to the family affair, Jason’s children, Mossie and Megan, will also compete in the event.
They have spent the 2024 season competing in national rallies all over Ireland in a Ford Fiesta Rally4.
The Costello family announced their participation in the rally at the event launch at the Rose Hotel last Wednesday evening.
