The Quinn sisters, Michelle and Tina, unveiled the Katie Quinn Tarmac Queen Perpetual Cup, at the rally’s launch in The Rose Hotel last week.

The trophy will be awarded to the highest-placed all-female crew in the Kerry Motor Club event. So far, three female crews have entered the rally. Katie’s sisters, Michelle and Tina, will drive her Honda Civic, while Grainne Caplice and Lauren Doherty are also entered in a Vauxhall Corsa.

Cathrine Walsh and Angiee Michniewicz will compete in another Honda Civic.

Family rally fun

The Quinn sisters’ father Mike is also on the entry list. He will be co-driven by Kieran O’Donoghue. Kieran’s brother Kevin is alongside Sean Enright.

Kevin O’Donoghue, Colin’s father will compete in his usual BMW M3and his son-in-law Jack Kelleher Will also drive an Escort.

Shay Griffin will make his co-driving debut alongside his father David in a historic spec Toyota Corolla.

Father and daughter John and Michelle Hickey will compete in a newly built Class 9 Ford Escort. John’s brother Charlie will race a class 14 Escort.

Father and son Tom and Mark O’Sullivan will share a Peugeot 205 GTi. Brothers James and Tim Kissane and Ray and Gene Stack will compete in Escorts.

Four members of the Browne family from Brosna will be in action. They are: 128   Maurice Browne and Chris Browne who will start at 128 in another Ford Escort Mk2 and Colm and Michael Browne is a G3 example.
