O’Sullivan wins Donegal Harvest Rally for second time

Noel O’Sullivan won Saturday’s Donegal Harvest Rally for the second time.

He guided Callum Devine to a start-to-finish victory in the final round of the Triton Shower Motorsport Ireland National Rally Championship.

While it was O’Sullivan’s second win on the event, it was his fourth victory in succession for Skoda Fabia Rally2 driver Devine.

The Derry/Kerry crew also won the Donegal International Rally in June on their way to runner-up spot in the Irish Tarmac Rally Championship.

“To win here in June and again this weekend just tops off the year nicely,” said O’Sullivan. “We got out of the blacks early, we knew stages one and two would be crucial, the weather made it challenging, I am delighted for Callum too, his fourth win in a row in his local rally.”

Aghadoe’s John McCarthy guided local driver Declan Galagher to a tenth-place finish in what was their debut in a Ford Fiesta Rally2.

Ger Conway was alongside Richard Moffett and they finished a disappointed fifth in class in their Toyota Starlet RWD after a host of mechanical issues.  The winners of the 2022 Kerry Winter Rally hope to have the issues sorted so they can defend their title in Tralee in the first weekend of November.
