Galway-based rally driver Aoife Raftery has received a last-minute invitation to compete in the Rally Terra Sarda in Sardinia, Italy.
The Motorsport Ireland Rally Academy member will drive a Renault Clio Rally5 and will be co-driven by Swedish co-driver Ida Lidebjer-Granberg.

The two-day tarmac rally, held on the island of Sardegna, will mark Raftery’s debut in the Clio Rally5.

“I am incredibly grateful for this unexpected opportunity,” Raftery said. “A big thank you to the organisers for inviting me. It was a last-minute call on Tuesday, and I’m really looking forward to working with Ida.”
Unfortunately, Raftery’s participation in the Sardinian Rally means she will be unable to compete in the Clare Forestry Rally this weekend. She wishes all participants the best of luck.
The Sardinian Rally is the fifth and penultimate event of the 2024 Tour European Rally. The 12th Rally Terra Sarda will feature 72 kilometres spread across twelve special stages on Saturday and Sunday.
