A strong contingent of Kerry-based crews will be competing in the Galway Summer Rally on Sunday

A strong contingent of Kerry-based crews will be competing in the Galway Summer Rally on Sunday, the penultimate round of the Triton Showers Motorsport Ireland National Rally Championship.

The rally is also a counting round of the Top Part West Coast Rally Championship.

Mike Quinn and Kieran Doherty are the top all-Kerry crew in the Ballinasloe-based event.

This  crew will be driving their usual Ford Escort Mk2 in class 14. Quinn is currently fifth in class 14 in the Top Part-backed series, while Doherty is fourth.

Milltown’s Raymond O’Neill and Jason O’Connor are another Kerry-based crew in a Ford Escort Mk2, competing in class 13.

Raymond Spence from County Down, is partnered with Headford’s Ger Somers in a Ford Escort Mk2. They are competing in class 13.

Sean Enright and Kevin Doherty will be driving a Ford Escort Mk2 in class 12.

In the same class, Mike Reddy, from County Clare, is partnered with Causeway-based  co-driver Maurice McElligott in a Ford Escort.

Knocknagoshel’s Paul Stryker and Edwin Walsh will compete in a Toyota Corolla Twin Cam in class 11R. They are currently third in class 11R in the Top Part West Coast Championship.

Glenflesk ‘s Dave Slattery and Denis Coffey are fourth in both class 13 and the Top Part-sponsored competition in their Escort.

Maurice Browne and Michael Browne, from Brosna, will compete in their first rally since the Kerry Winter Rally in 2022.
