CORK FORESTRY RALLY
Siblings Mossie and Megan Costello were the best of the Kerry crews on Sunday’s Cork Forestry Rally.
They finished fifth in the highly competitive Rally4 class in their Ford Fiesta after eight tough stages in the Mallow area.

“It was a way more slippery than I expected,” said the Tarbert driver.
“The third loop was much better.” It was their first event since the tarmac Carlow Rally in May.
John Hickey and William Kelleher were class winners in their Subaru Impreza. It was Hickey’s first attempt at the Cork Forestry Rally in 20 years and Kelleher’s first-ever gravel event.
Colin Nelligan was fourth in Class One in his Fiesta, but suffered for a lack of seat time as this was his first event since the Carrick-on-Suir Forestry Rally in April. Liam
Frank Wharton and co-driver Donal Falvey were the best of the Kerry crews in the junior rally while co-driver Denny Greany was third in Class 12 alongside Michael O’Sullivan in a Ford Escort Mk2.
