The Masters Superbike National Motorcycle Racing Championship resumes this weekend at Mondello Park and several locally based riders hope to maintain strong championship positions.
This weekend’s triple-header marks the start of the second half of the season.
Tralee-based rider Emmet O’Grady is in a podium position in two different classes.
In the Superbike feature class, the TAG Honda CBR 1000 rider is in third place and just 24 points off series leader Brian McCormack. With a maximum of 75 points (25 for each race win) available over the weekend anything is possible.
O’Grady also holds second in the Supersport category and is just a single point off championship leader Kevin Keyes. O’Grady won his first 600cc race of the year during the previous meeting in June. His AKR Bourne Racing teammate Osian Maher is in third place and just four points behind O’Grady in the title race.#
Andrew Murphy is the runaway leader in the Moto 400 class with six wins out of nine races so far this season.
