Walsh secures backing from Lixnaw-based Assured Power for remainder of motorcycle racing season
Ardfert-based motorcycle racer Stephen Walsh has secured backing from Lixnaw-based Assured Powers.
Walsh is hoping to return to the Manx Grand Prix – the second biggest motorcycle race on the Isle of Man – in August.
He will race a Honda 500 Twin, loaned to him by British racer Jeff Smith, in the Classic category of the Grand Prix.
In the meantime, he will contest the interim rounds of the Ulster Superbike championship in an effort to learn the new machine.
The next round of that championship is the Temple Motorcycle Club’s meeting at Kirkistown this weekend.
Lixnaw-based Assured Power has come on board to support his efforts.
“Assured Power from Lixnaw is in the generator business. They are giving me a lot of help. The lads there are really into bikes and cars and are sound.”
