Motorcycle racing resumes in the Republic of Ireland this weekend for the first time since September 2022.
Motorcycling Ireland was unable to get an insurance policy in place last season but with the issue now solved the short-circuit racing will return to Mondello Park this weekend for the first round of the new-look Irish Masters Superbike Championship.
Several Kerry riders are taking part in the meeting.
Emmet O’Grady will race in two classes.
He will compete in the Supersport 600cc class for the AK Bourne team and he returns to the TAG Racing squad and will ride their Honda CBR1000 in the Superbike class.

Killarney’s Stephen Heelan will race in the Supersport Cup category on a Kawasaki ZX6.
“I am really looking forward to getting back competing again,” he said. “Hopefully the grids will be full and there will be plenty of competition.
It is a busy time for Mountcollins Andrew Murphy. He has just returned from his second training weekend on the Isle of Man ahead of his Manx Grand Prix debut in August. He will race in Mondello this weekend in the 400cc class.
Tom McElligott Sr from Killflyn will race in the Production Twin class on a Kawasaki SV650.
