Ger Conway was the best of the Kerry contingent in Monaghan on Sunday.

The Darrian GT90 of Kevin Gallagher and Conway were on a mission in over the later stages to take second place in the Modified category. They were just 1.8 seconds off category winner Daniel McKenna and were eighth overall.

Gallagher confirmed at the finish that he could enter the next two rounds of the Triton Showers Motorsport Ireland National Rally Championship, Birr and Carlow, ahead of a planned attack on his home rally, The Donegal International in June.

Sean Scanlon &and  Paul McGlinchey were Class 2A winners in their Honda Civic.

Killarney and District Motor Club’s Derry Long was robbed of a near certain Class 13 win. He and driver Aaron McIntyre were leading the class all day but the rear diff in their Toyota Starlet cried enough on the final test.
