JWRC co-driver Conor Mohan takes another navigation win

Junior World Rally Championship (JWRC) co-driver Conor Mohan secured his second overall navigation trial victory in as many months when he and driver Michael Carbin won Monaghan Motor Club’s March navigation trial on Saturday night.

Based out of Ballinode, Clerk of Course David McCrudden set out a challenging route of lanes and farmyards that stretched from Tydavnet to Clones.

The event was a counting round of the National Navigation Trial Championship, the Squealing Pig Border Navigation Trial Championship and both the Monaghan Motor Club Overall and Navigation championships.

Dropping only four penalties over the course of the night, Mohan/Carbin were clear winners on the night. The win follows victory in February on the prestigious Drumlin Navigation Trial with Gary Cassidy driving, and a second overall in Cavan Motor Club’s navigation event.

All the while, Mohan is competing in the JWRC with Donegal’s Eamonn Kelly. The crew are in their second year of the championship and got their account off to a strong start with third overall in Rally Sweden.

The Monaghan co-driver highlighting his strong skillset and the transferable learning from grassroots motorsport to the highest level of competition.
