Motorsport engineer Richard Browne to give career talk to youngsters
Killarney and District Motor Club in association with KDMC2 Youth Project has organised an evening with Richard Browne of Volkswagen Motorsport.63
The talk is taking place at 7:30 p.m. on Friday (February 9) at Killarney Racecourse.
Richard is a native of Firies and attended the Intermediate Secondary School in Killorglin before studying Mechanical Engineering in Cork Institute of Technology. He then went on to study Motorsport Engineering and Design in Swansea University, Wales.

Richard has gone on to work for RH Motorsport, Prodrive (Customer car support) and Volkswagen Motorsport in the WRC.
During his time in the WRC he was Engineer to Andreas Mikkelsen amongst others. Richard’s current role is Motorsport Homologation Engineer with Volkswagen.
“The night will provide an exciting opportunity to get an insight into his career, his exploits in the WRC as well as plans for the future. The evening is being organised primarily for younger people thinking about choosing a career in Motorsport. Richard will be on hand to provide insight, guidance and a potential roadmap to fulfil their dreams.,” said KDMC vice chairman Mike O’Shea.
