
Daire Murphy is the lucky person to become the new owner of a restored 1979 Land Rover thanks to a raffle organised by the Killarney Valley Classic and Vintage Club.
The club’s annual raffle was run last year to raise funds for four different local charities: St. Francis Special School, Paul Murphy Fundraiser, Kerry Stars and Killarney Rugby Club.
On Friday evening last the club held the much anticipated draw and six lucky winners will now collect wither the Land Rover, a Honda 70 motorbike, a Honda X8R motorbike, Rugby tickets and hotel break, Castleisland Tyre voucher and maybe event 30 bags of turf.
The draw was held at the Old Killarney Inn and there was a huge turnout on the night with refreshments and music supplied from Killarney School Of Music.
Kerry GAA star Paudie Clifford who launched the event was also on hand to pick out the
“We would like to thank everyone who purchased a ticket to help support these great causes,” said club PRO Richard O’Donoghe.
“Also the many hard working dedicated members who put a lot of time and work into getting these items up to condition.
“Of course there is a cost behind these projects and without our top sponsors, BG Motors, Lee-Strand Milk, The Warehouse Cafe and Red Chair Recruitment we wouldn’t be able to do what we do.”
In the coming weeks the club will present these prizes to the lucky winners along with the charity donations.
