Motorcycle racing is back – insurance crisis averted -calendar of events expected this week

The board of Motorcycling Ireland met this week to discuss and vote on the proposal of whether to accept the insurance quotation offered to the board.

Each convenor had many points to bring to the table from their clubs, which were discussed at length. Following this, a vote was held by the convenors who voted in line with the majority of their clubs.

The vote went in favour of accepting the insurance proposal by majority.

A further statement with details on licensing, start permissions, affiliations, fundraising and other topics will be released in the coming days

“We have one chance to get this right, and it needs further discussion to be finalised,” said a statement.

“This is a positive step for the future of racing, and we will continue to work with all clubs to make sure it is as successful as possible.”
