PCRS Rallysport has two cars in top 15 after opening leg of Spanish tarmac rally

Spain-based Irish Rally team PCRS Rallysport has two cars in the top-15 after the opening loop if two stages on Rallye Ciudad de Valencia.

PCRS is fielding two cars in this weekend’s final round of the Spanish rally championship.

The rally got underway with two stages under the cover of darkness on Friday evening.

It will conclude after a further six stages and a total of 117 kms on Saturday evening.

Leading the Irish challenge on the event is Philip Allen and his Welsh co-driver Dale Furniss. They are driving PCRS Rallysport’s Hyundai i20 Rally2.

They are in third place overall after Friday’s two tests – just 7.9 seconds off the leader.  

Motorsport Ireland Rally Academy driver Aoife Raftery is also on the entry list.

Although got up in a first-stage blockage, and was subsequently awarded a scratch time she put in an impressive performance on the second stage to end the opening leg in 13th place overall.

The Galway driver’s Peugeot 208 Rally4 is also prepared by PCRS Rallysport.
