It is very fitting that on the eve of the Towers Hotel Killarney Historic Rally that Craig Breen’s family have announced details of the Craig Breen Foundation.
The foundation will support drivers in the Junior 1000 category competing in Irish rallies.
The prize fund will run to over €35,000.
With support from Hyundai Motorsport and Sports 4 You, the team Craig drive for this year on the Portuguese championship, the winner will get the opportunity to drive a Hyundai on a Spanish/Portuguese Hyundai i20 Cup round.

The top two drivers will enjoy a day’s tuition at John Haughland’s Rally School in Norway .
Breen’s co-driver Paul Nagle will offer a day of pacenote training for the top-three championship finishers.
The foundation was announced on the day before the Killarney Historic Rally.
Craig loved this event and came here to play every year since 2018 . The first time here he drove a MG Metro 6R4 as a course car. The following year, driving a Ford Escort Mk2, he finished second.
Pandemic aside, he was back again in 2021, this time as winner in a BMW M3 E30.

Last year, he was involved in an epic duel with eventual winner Jonny Greer, driving his ex Frank Meagher Ford Sierra Cosworth.
