Noel O’Sullivan was the leading Kerry competitor on Sunday’s Fastnet Rally.
He and his driver Callum Devine finished second overall in their Volkswagen Polo R5 but the result was not enough for them to claim the Triton Showers Motorsport Ireland National Rally Championship which went to defending champions Josh Moffett and Keith Moriarty.

Conor Murphy and Sean Collins were the best all-Kerry crew at the event. They finished eighth in their Ford Escort. They felt they could have been higher but were caught up in a first-stage blockage. As a result, they were running outside their seeded sequence and spent much of the early loop catching slower cars.
Mike Quinn and Kieran Doherty were 18th in another Ford Escort Mk2.
Mark O’Leary and Cliff Desmond were third in Class 11F in their Toyota Starlet.
Other finishers included Vincent O’Shea and Eoin O’Donoghue (Darrian T90) and Bob Moran/Eoin Collins (Ford Escort Mk2).
Brother and sister Mossie and Megan Costello continued their learning curve by taking third in Class 2 in their Ford Fiesta. Co-driver Sean Nolan was fourth in the same class alongside Shane Casey.
Ger O’Brien and John Liston and Brian Hickey and Noel Murphy were seventh in their respective classes in a pair of Escorts.

Maurice Kennelly and Eoin Mulvihill were fifth in Class 12, two places behind in the same category were Sean Enright and Kevin Doherty.
Cyril Wharton and Donal Falvey were just happy to make the finish while co-driver Amy Burke guided Hazel O’Callaghan to 11th in Class 13. Ford Escort.

Timmy Finnegan and Michael Brown were on their second rally together and were also happy to reach the finish.
Declan O’Sullivan and Jonathan O’Shea were fifth in class in their VW Golf and will be keeping a watchful eye on Top Part West Coast Rally Championship points as they may have wrapped up that category.

Paul Stryker and Chris Browne had to rely on SuperRally rules to get their Toyota Corolla Twin Cam to the finish.
