Road racer Anthony O’Carroll’s plans for 2024 are up in the air after he placed both his race bikes up for sale this week.
O’Carroll made history this year when he became the first Kerry rider to finish a race on the Isle of Man.
He also won several road races this year including becoming a double winner at the Armoy Road Races in Antrim in July.
Despite saying ahead of the meeting that he was going to take a conservative approach to the final
On that occasion, riding his Kawasaki ER6, the Ballyduff man took a start-to-finish win in the Junior support race, the opening race of the meeting’s race programme.
Later the same day he once again led the 600ccc from the start on his Kawasaki ZX6R.
These are the same two bikes he took to the Isle of Man in August and recorded a top-15 finish in the 600cc category.
Now, both bikes are on the market, and his plans for next season are undecided.
With no official confirmation coming from Motorcycling Ireland regarding insurance next season, O’Carroll is considering emigrating to Australia for a year or two but could return home in time for some of the bigger Isle of Man meetings next year.
He is also considering joining Darragh Murphy, Andrew’s brother, racing Down Under in the St Geroge Motorcycle Club’s Summer Series from December to January.
