One of greatest legends of Kerry rallying has passed away
Dermot O’Sullivan will be laid to rest over the weekend.

He started rallying in 1968 1968 but retired from the sport after the Circuit of Ireland Rally in 1986.
He made a one off re-appearance on the Killarney Historic Rally in 2004 at the wheel of a Talbot Sunbeam but could not stay wats and contested the 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2008 editions of that rally too.
Businesswise, he his best known for setting up O’Sullivan’s Cycles in Killarney which is now run by his son Paul.
Whenever the glory of days of Kerry rallying are discussed in local pubs during the wee hours, it was certain the Dermot’s name would be mentioned.
A more detailed tribute will be published here at a later date.
Past co-drivers include Mike Marshal, John Fleming and Castleisland’s Mike Roche. All names associated with Killarney and District Motor Club.
