The latest round of the New Zealand Rally Championship took place just over ten days ago.

Kerry co-driver Noel Moloney was on co-driving duty for Quentin Parkes

In his own words, here is what happened over the weekend.

“Well what can I say

“The Daybreaker Rally was an awesome  event for good reasons and bad reasons.

“The good reason was it was An epic event with some great roads.

“We started out of the blocks with the fifth fastest time so a good start going into the first service.

“We maintained a steady speed to be lying fifth into the second midday service.

“After service, we headed out to the sixth stage and about 12k in=to the monster 42km stage we lost boost and the pipe was cracked, which meant we couldn’t carry on

“Overall], it was a good pace up to then.

“Thanks to Quentin for letting me step in last minute.

“On the other side of things there was still an Irish and Scottish podium with Shane Reynolds and Sean Haggerty finishing 12th overall and second in class D.
