Walsh plans Manx return in 2024

Ardfert motorcycle racer Stephen Walsh had a mixed weekend at Kirkistown – his penultimate race meeting of the year.
He took part in the seventh round of the Ulster Superbike Championship at Kirkstown on Saturday last.
With his own Honda RD 350 still in pieces after his maiden attempt at the Manx Grand Prix last month, Walsh was given a loan of a similar machine by his class rival Andy Gildea.
He repaid the kindness by taking fourth place in the opening 400cc classic race but a fuelling and engine problem meant he failed to finish his second race.
Walsh is already planning on returning to the Isle of Man next August and the licencing procedure has already started for 2024.
“One race finish is one signature on the licence,” he said.
“I need four or five. I will probably look at a few events in England next year, depending on how the insurance works out here and if are racing or not.”
His final event of the year, and another potential signature, will be the eighth round of the Ulster Superbike Championship on the weekend of September 30.
