The Killarney-based driver has placed an entry for the East Belgium Rally which is based in the town of St Vith – the hometown of Hyundai World Rally Team star Thierry Neuville.
The BMW M3 driver and his co-driver Adrian Deasy is one of several Irish crews contesting the event.
Joining them are fellow BMW M3 crew Donagh Kelly and Rory Kennedy from Donegal and the Clare/Cork crew of Niall O’Sullivan and Grace O’Brien.

Ring plans more European rallies later in the year.
“The car has had a full rebuild so this is a shakedown for Historic Rallye San Remo [in Italy] a few weeks after,” he said.

The 12-stage rally gets underway on Saturday morning.
