Fassbender third in Aragón
Michael Fassbender was part of the three-car team that Team Proton boss Michael Ried described as their best performance of the season so far.
The team scored a double podium at the recent Four Hours of Aragon in Spain,
In the Porsche 911 RSR with starting number 16, the Barcelona winners Ryan Hardwick (USA), Zach Robichon (Canada) and Alessio Picariello (Belgium) took second place in the GTE class.
Michael Fassbender (Ireland), Martin Rump (Estonia) and Richard Lietz (Austria) crossed the finish line in third place with start number 93.
This was the best team result to date in the European Le Mans Series
Michael Ried, team owner and technical director said : “That was a strong team result. We didn’t know what to expect on the new route. This performance should be valued all the more highly. Three cars in the top 4 – you don’t achieve that every day. We have thus underlined our good position in the fight for the championship.”
