Opel and Vauxhall enthusiasts from all over the country assembled in the Gleneagle Hotel car park on Saturday last for the 16th Annual Ted’s Opel Vauxhall Run.
Bringing people and their cars from Donegal, Louth, Waterford, Cork, Kerry, Limerick and Galway and a mix of other places in between an array of models from various years attended.
Also in attendance was a representative from Opel Ireland, one of the main sponsors, Other main sponsors were Cartell.ie and Casey Caravan Services.
As the weather brightened the first leg of the journey began taking the cars over the famous rally stage of Moll’s Gap and on to Sneem and stopping for lunch at O’Carroll’s Cove Bar and Restaurant.
After everyone had satisfied their appetite the presentation of Awards took place. A Raffle also took place after the awards. The journey then continued on to Waterville, over Ballaghisheen and Ballaghbeama Passes and returning to the Gleneagle Hotel via Molls Gap again.
“A great day was had by all and the weather held out. Thank you to all who attended and supported the run, the proceeds will be donated to the Dogs for the Disabled, a very worthwhile charity who train dogs to assist people with various disabilities. Keep next yea’rs date in your diary, August 10, we’ll see you there,” said organiser Ted O’Connell.
