Over 200 cars on display at Killarney show last Sunday  

Killarney Valley Classic and Vintage Club held its Annual Classic and Vintage car show in the spectacular Killarney Racecourse on Sunday.

There was huge crowds of people who turned out to view over 200 cars, many Land Rovers and more than 30 motorbikes. Barbecue burgers, good weather and live DJ made the show a family-friendly day. 

The restored 1979 Land Rover was on display and selling tickets to benefit four local charities. Tickets are always on sale at www.killarneyvalleycv.com 

The Renault Megane Cabriolet which was donated to the club and got a full look over and fresh NCT from BG Motors Killarney, went for auction and raised a huge €2,100 for the Mater Hospital Foundation.

The club thanked Billy Hennigan Auctioneer for being part of it. 

There was also a free raffle for anyone who displayed a Land Rover on the day for an overnight stay in Loch Lein House and €100 voucher for Stryker Landrovers Abbeyfeale.

Kerry Motor Club were also on show with a selection of local rally cars ahead of the Ballyfinnane Hillclimb on next Sunday.

The club will be hosting a Classic and Vintage car show on the day for all cars 20 years and older.

The show is just a few minutes’ walk north of the Shanty bar but access to this show will only be possible from the Farmers Bridge side to avoid closed roads. 

“We would like to thank everybody that helped in any way to make the car show possible, it’s great to see these Vintage cars and to always meet new people,” said club secretary  Richard O’Donoghue.
