Weekend round-up Kerry results up and down the country

Mossie Costello ran his new Ford Fiesta Rally 4 for the first time at the Mayo Autocross in Knock on Sunday.

He finished 18th overall after three runs.

Mikie O’Connor Jr was four places ahead in his Opel Manta.

Tralee co-driver Richard Talbot finished 13th overall alongside Christy Carey in a Mitsubishi Lancer E9 in the Greenmount/Thomond rallysprint at Limerick Racecourse on Sunday.

The event was run to raise funds for several worthy causes including the Motorsport Ireland Benevolent Fund, Limerick Suicide Watch, An Garda Siochana’s Little Blue Heroes and Limerick Animal Welfare Sanctuary.

In Saturday’s Tour of the Sperrins, – Elaine Ní Shé guided Sean Devine to 17th place in a Ford Fiesta R5.

Damien Fleming finished 28th alongside Gareth Deazley in the same rally – they were driving a Ford Fiesta R200.

In New Zealand, Noel Moloney did not make the finish of Rally Whangerai. He and his driver Clinton Cunningham were in sixth place overall after day one but left the road early on Sunday morning and retired their Skoda Fabia on the sport.

Declan Casey guided Michael McDaid to 15th overall on Plains Rally in Wales
