Class win for Mick Smith in Barbados

London-based Killarney man Mick Smith was a class winner in the opening event of the Barbados Rally week.

Driving a Hillman Imp, he won class H1 in the First Citizens King of the Hill hillclimb event on Sunday.

Four runs over a demanding new course combining sweeping high-speed sections, crests and a steep, technical climb through tight uphill hairpins acted as the final shakedown before Sol Rally Barbados 2023 (June 9-11), the 33rd edition of the Barbados Rally Club’s premier event.

Sunday’s hillclimb served as a seeding event for the main rally.
