The Athea Road Racing Club has confirmed that their event in August will not go ahead after last-ditch attempts by Motorcycling Ireland to secure insurance for 2023 failed.

There has been no motorcycle sport of any description, on roads, short circuits like Mondello Park or off-road events in the Republic of Ireland this year because of the deepening insurance crisis and attention will now turn to the 2024 season in the hope the sport can resume.
Just as newspapers and magazines are paid for, digital editorial content will also have to be paid for.
