The new for 2022 Killarney Forestry Championship will be included in two separate rally championships.
Organisers of the Motorsport Ireland Forestry Rally Championship released details of their calendar of events earlier this week.
The 2022 schedule confirms the Killarney event, on February 20, as the opening round of the six round series.
The Forestry Championship also said that the rally will be based in Castleisland even though the venue has yet to be confirmed by Killarney and District Motor Club.
The championship also includes the Carrick on Suir Forestry (April 9); a new rally run by the Midlands Motor Club(May 22); the Moonraker Forestry Rally (July 2) the Cork Forestry Rally (on August 14) and the Bushwhacker Rally in Tyrone on September 17.
Kerry Motorsport News understands that a seventh event could be added to the schedule.
Meanwhile, the team behind the Moriarty’s Centre Kingdom of Kerry Rally Championship are applying to Motorsport Ireland in an effort to get the Killarney Forestry Rally included in the 2022 championship. Further rounds include each day of the Rally of the Lakes, the Kerry Winter Rally and the Killarney Historic Rally.
