Ford Cortinas, classic VW campers and the Autumn classic run – its going to be a busy weekend in Kerry
It is going to be a busy weekend across Kerry for classic car enthusiasts with three events taking place in the north, south and west of the county.
Kicking off the weekend in style is the Cortina Owners Club of Ireland. Over 40 different versions of the iconic Ford will base themselves at the Meadowlands Hotel from around 7pm this evening.
The club will host its AGM at the hotel tonight before heading off on a tour of North Kerry tomorrow. The tour will follow the Wild Atlantic Way from Tralee, to Churchill. The lunch stop at Ballybunnion will be preceded by a run over Kerry Head, before the cars return to the Meadowlands for a night of entertainment.
In the west of the county, fans of Volkswagen Camper vans will be catered for at the 17th annual Campfest.
Run in memory of the late and great Mick Neil, the three-day Campfest gets underway on Friday and runs until Sunday at his popular pub in Camp.
On top off all that, the Kingdom, Veteran and Vintage Car Club will host its annual autumn run and overnight social in Kenmare on Saturday.
