Quirke back in action in the US of A
Kenneth Quirke will return to US rally action this weekend for the first time since the North East Pennsylvania Rally in April.
The New York-based West Kerry man will co-drive for Johnny O’Sullivan in a Ford Fiesta R5 on Saturday’s Susquehannock Trail Performance Rally in Pennsylvania.
STPR is considered one of the true classics of American rally, however this year it will run only as a one-day regional event and not its usual two-day National status event.
Regardless, the Wellsboro event has attracted a strong entry and several of the top Irish drivers will make the long trip west later this week.
“i have never competed on STPR, it never ran last year due to Covid,” Quirk told Kerry Motorsport News. “My Last rally was with Johnny also, we did a Rallysprint in the Subaru but retired after bending a wishbone.
!It should be a good day’s craic with Paddy Brennan also on the entry. Also a matchup to watch for us is Cian McCormack and Matt James and Liam McNelis and Leon Jordan – last year’s American Rally Association Navigator Champion.”
