London calling to Killarney
There will be a strong London-based Kerry presence on the Rentokil-Initial Killarney Historic Rally later this month.
London Irish Motor Club chairman and Killarney native Mick Smith will contest the event in his Chrysler Avenger. It will be the second time the car has been in action in Killarney this year after he contested the RallyFest element of the Rally of the Lakes in May.
Ray Hilliard has had his Ford Escort Mk1 repaired follwoing his Rally of the Lakes shunt and he is another LIMC driver heading to Killarney at the end of month.
Co-driver Shane Buckley will tackle the rally alongside his cousin Aidan in Escort Mk2. The local pair put in a huge performance in the Rally of the Lakes in May and narrowly lost out on second overall in the national section.
Patrick Bonner from Donegal is another LIMC driver on the historic rally entry list.
